My journey into the world of financial planning and wealth management began at the ripe age of 7 years old when my father helped me purchase my first stock. Fueled by a faith-filled upbringing that placed great value on stewardship, and a natural curiosity about how money works, this initial investment sparked my interest and laid the foundation for the rest of my career.

While completing my honors degree in Finance and Marketing at the University of Delaware, I worked under the mentorship of a well-regarded private wealth manager whose entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence left a distinct mark on me. Immediately following graduation, I stepped into a role at a regional planning organization where I earned additional licenses and designations including my Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 (securities registrations currently held with LPL Financial) the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter from the American College.

Through this firsthand exposure to the financial services industry, my desire was solidified to create a fee-based financial planning and wealth management service that would act solely for the benefit of clients without many of the conflicts of interest that are so prevalent in this industry. On December 6th, 1999, I took a leap of faith and Covenant Wealth Strategies – an independent fee-based wealth management and financial planning firm – was born. Starting with zero assets, zero clients, and zero revenue, Covenant began operating out of temporary offices and gradually expanded our team and client base until we found our permanent home in the Old Stone Barn March of 2005.

At Covenant, we firmly believe that the best decisions, including financial decisions, are made within the context of a thorough and complete understanding of one’s circumstances and goals for the future. We are deeply committed to providing every client at Covenant with a comprehensive financial plan to support their goals and dreams for the future while also supporting their legacy plan to bless future generations.

As President and CEO of Covenant, my most treasured role is my desire to be our clients’ most trusted advisor. I cherish the opportunity to establish deep and meaningful relationships built upon trust and transparency to earn the right to be one of your First Five phone calls “when life happens”.  Whether celebrating successes or navigating challenges, it is a privilege to help clients build financial security, see dreams fulfilled, and create enduring legacies.

I hold memberships with the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, the Million Dollar Round Table, The Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Wilmington Tax Group. I am particularly honored to be recognized by Forbes as a best in State Wealth Advisor, a 5-Star Wealth Advisor by 5 Star Professionals and ranked in the top 0.5% of LPL’s 21,000+ advisors in LPL’s Executive Council.

Beyond the workplace, my commitment to faith and my family remains central. Behind every successful man is an amazing woman, and I could not be more grateful for my wife, Debbie. We’ve enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay, surfing, and spending time at the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey – especially with our sons, Chip and Dan, Daughter in-laws, Natalie and Madeline, and grandchildren. While we have two sons by birth, many people call Debbie and I, “Mom and Dad”, and our children have been active in the foster care and adoption communities, regularly bringing children into their (and our) home. We are so grateful to get to play a small part in this tangible representation of God’s love here on earth!
